The New England Patriots have released linebacker Darius Fleming.

Fleming made headlines in late January after he rescued a woman following a car accident - only two days before the Patriots' playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fleming played in the game despite requiring 22 stitches in his right calf due to cutting his leg during the rescue.
