Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was found with a homemade knife in his jail cell, according to multiple reports.
The weapon was reportedly found during an inspection of his cell Thursday, and Hernandez was immediately transferred to a segregated area inside the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, Mass.
The 26-year-old was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder on April 15 for the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd.
Hernandez is expected to go on trial for a double murder that occurred in Boston on July 26, 2012.
The former tight end has reportedly been involved in three prison altercations since being detained.
