Matt Forte: Active for Thursday's game

Forte (knee) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Packers.

Analysis:

Forte is back in action after missing three games with an MCL sprain, but how heavily he will be used in his return remains to be seen. With that in mind, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport suggested earlier Thursday that Forte "is expected to be the starter -- mainly because of his veteran status -- but I am told he will be the starter in name only." Rapoport adds that some version of "a two-headed monster, two rotated backs" figures to be in play Thursday, with fellow RB Jeremy Langford, who impressed in Forte's absence, expected to remain a factor in the Bears' Week 12 backfield.
