New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is medically cleared to resume playing after missing the team's last five games due to a pectoral injury, head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed Monday.

Amukamara's imminent return to the lineup will come as a relief, with the Giants surrendering a league-high 309.9 passing yards per game.

Prior to his injury, Amukamara recorded 32 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.

With the Giants traveling to face the Washington Redskins in a game that could dictate the NFC East winner, Amukamara could be tasked with shutting down DeSean Jackson.
