Cam Newton throws 4 first-half TDs vs. Redskins

Jeremy Brevard / USA TODAY Sports

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is proving to be a worthy MVP candidate, throwing a career-high four touchdowns in the first half versus the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Newton distributed the ball to Greg Olsen, Ted Ginn Jr., Jonathan Stewart, and Mike Tolbert for the four scores, steering the Panthers to a 31-14 halftime lead.

The Panthers superstar went 16-of-24 for 187 yards in the first half, and it appears likely his club will remain undefeated well into November.
