Vernon Davis: Traded to Broncos

The 49ers have traded Davis to the Broncos, ESPN.com reports. Per the report, in return for Davis and a 2016 seventh-round draft pick, the Broncos will send sixth-round draft picks in both 2016 and 2017 to the 49ers.

Analysis:

Davis, who has recorded 18 catches for 194 yards in six games for the 49ers this season, could see his value boosted by the deal, though the Broncos also roster fellow tight ends Owen Daniels and Virgil Green, so an immediate impact in his new uniform is hardly a lock. Still, given Davis' experience and athleticism, he could provide QB Peyton Manning with another reliable target in the 7-0 Broncos' passing attack.
