Tom Brady throws 2 early INTs, rebounds with TD drive before half
Tom Brady got off to a slow start in Friday's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, leading the New England Patriots to consecutive three-and-outs before throwing interceptions on each of the next two drives.
The future Hall of Famer would manage to show signs of his usual form prior to halftime, however, taking the offense down the field in just 1:23 to put together a seven-play, 80-yard touchdown drive.
Despite the still-unsettled case surrounding his four-game suspension, Brady's impressive showing to close out the night should leave the Patriots confident that he'll be at the top of his game when he does eventually hit the field.
Jimmy Garoppolo, who will step in with the first-team unit during Brady's suspension, took over under center to start the second half, again running the offense with efficiency.
While he had the benefit of matching up with the Panthers' second-team defense, Garoppolo finished the night 11-of-15 for 115 yards and one touchdown.
