The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed Devin Gardner off waivers from the New England Patriots on Tuesday, adding some competition to their wide receiver group as the team's offseason program moves forward.
Making a transition to receiver after playing quarterback during his college career at Michigan, Gardner had originally signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent earlier this month.
In a corresponding move to create space on the current 90-man roster, the Steelers waived wide receiver L'Damian Washington.
