Amari Cooper: Signs With Oakland

Cooper, the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, signed with the Raiders on Thursday.

Analysis:

Terms of the deal were not initially disclosed, but Buffalo's Sammy Watkins got $19.94 million over four years as the No. 4 overall selection last season, and Cooper's deal will be in the same neighborhood. The former Crimson Tide superstar should immediately step in as Derek Carr's go-to receiver, in an offense that threw the ball on an NFL-high 66.1 percent of its plays last season. While the Raiders surely hope they won't be forced to throw so often in 2015, Cooper should see plenty of targets. The competition for Carr's attention consists of Michael Crabtree, Rod Streater, Andre Holmes, Mychal Rivera and Clive Walford.
