The newly approved stadium owned collectively by the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers may have some flashy features that will immediately capture the attention of both fan bases.

The teams submitted a proposal for the $1.7 billion building in Carson, Calif. with some invigorating in-game additions.

When the Chargers are playing, a bolt would fly out of a 115-to-120 foot tower that's projected to extend through and over the concourse when the home team scores a touchdown according to the Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer and Nathan Fenno.

Simulated lightning bolts would fly around in a glass case that surrounds the aforementioned tower during Chargers' home games.

The proposal also states that a flame would be lit in the stadium's cauldron during Raiders' home games, but likely due to safety reasons there wouldn't be a flame that ascends through the tower upon a Raiders' touchdown.

"We wanted the building to be iconic and sleek, like a luxury sports car," David Manica, president of Manica Architecture said. "Very aerodynamic, in motion, flowing lines from every angle."

It's pretty cool to see how the Chargers and Raiders plan to embrace new technology when their long-awaited new building is erected.
