The San Diego Chargers exercised their fifth-year option on outside linebacker Melvin Ingram, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Ingram recorded 29 tackles and two forced fumbles in nine games for the Chargers last season.
San Diego selected Ingram with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The 25-year-old has faced a host of injuries throughout his professional career and only completed a full season in his rookie campaign. When healthy, Ingram is expected to elevate the Chargers' pass rush.
