Highly touted tight end Maxx Williams will not attend the upcoming NFL draft.

Williams, widely considered to be the best tight end available from this year's class, told KARE 11 he'll spend the time with his family instead of flying to Chicago.

This year's event will be held at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre, a departure from New York's famed Radio City Music Hall which usually holds the league's annual event.

Williams is not the first player to opt out of attending the draft, with expected first overall pick Jameis Winston also deciding to watch from home.

The 21-year-old Williams was a finalist for the John Mackey Award, handed out to college football's best tight end, after an outstanding redshirt sophomore campaign at Minnesota.
