The Washington Redskins re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent safety Duke Ihenacho on Wednesday.

The Redskins claimed Ihenacho off waivers Aug. 31 after his release from the Denver Broncos. However, the 25-year-old's season came to a crashing halt after fracturing his foot in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The deal means Ihenacho has a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Redskins, and other clubs can't make an offer to the safety.

Ihenacho recorded 73 tackles in 15 games for the Broncos in 2013.
