Report: Falcons expected to pursue Brian Orakpo

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

It's no secret the Atlanta Falcons will be targeting a pass rusher in free agency, and Brian Orakpo may be at the top of their list.

The Falcons are expected to pursue the Washington Redskins linebacker if he becomes a free agent, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Atlanta finished 30th in sacks last season and a player of Orakpo's ability could certainly help them in that department.

For that to happen, however, Orakpo needs to be healthy. He played in only seven games in 2014 because of a torn pectoral muscle and managed just a half sack.

Orakpo's agent and the Redskins reportedly spoke at the combine, so Washington could be making a final attempt to ink him to a new deal.
