The NFLPA has elected Teri Patterson to be the head of the domestic violence committee, according to ESPN's Jane McManus.
After a series of high-profile domestic assaults over the past calendar year, the NFL decided to form a committee to help curtail incidents against women, and show a renewed commitment to eradicating it from the league.
Patterson currently serves as the NFLPA's deputy managing director and special counsel. She was the first women to serve as counsel for the NFLPA.
In her role with the NFLPA, she has worked as a mediator for NFL players' wives.
