It appears San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula will be adding one of his former defensive linemen to his new coaching staff.

One season after retiring from the NFL, Aubrayo Franklin is set to join the team as a defensive assistant, according to The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

The most productive stretch of Franklin's 11-year career came during his four-season stint with the 49ers from 2007 to 2010, in which he started in 60 games and tallied 147 tackles.
