Report: Giants request interview with Redskins' Raheem Morris for DC job

The New York Giants appear to be looking to the staff of an NFC East rival to fill an opening at defensive coordinator after parting ways with Perry Fewell on Wednesday.

The Giants have requested permission to interview Washington Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris for the now-vacant coordinator job, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It remains to be seen whether the Redskins would grant Morris permission to interview with a division opponent, but the early interest seems to indicate he's one of the Giants' top candidates for the position.

Morris was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach for three years from 2009-11 and has coached the Redskins' defensive backs in each of the three seasons since.
