Report: Bears not considering Mike Shanahan as head coaching candidate

Despite the obvious connection and history with quarterback Jay Cutler, Mike Shanahan won't be among the names the Chicago Bears consider in their search for a new head coach, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.
Shanahan has reportedly been in the running for a number of different head coaching vacancies of late, but it appears he is no longer a realistic option for a Bears job that may actually be among the most desirable of those available.
The Bears have also been linked to Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, but the team will likely look to fill its opening at general manager before making any official hire at head coach.
