San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the San Diego Chargers.
Hyde is dealing with a back injury suffered in a Week 15 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Starter Frank Gore is trending towards playing, so the loss of Hyde may not be as damaging to the 49ers as previously thought. If neither can play, backups Alfonso Smith and Phillip Tanner will be relied upon.
