Panthers to start Mike Remmers at right tackle Sunday vs. Vikings

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

The Carolina Panthers will have a new face at right tackle for Sunday's game.

Head coach Ron Rivera announced Friday that Mike Remmers will get the start against the Minnesota Vikings in place of Nate Chandler, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

Guard Amini Silatolu was expected to move to right tackle, but is dealing with swelling in his knee.

Remmers has bounced around since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State, most recently spending time on the St. Louis Rams' practice squad. He was signed by the Panthers on Oct. 28.
