Bears' Conte will not return vs. Lions after suffering an eye injury

by Kyle Smith

Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte will not return to Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions after suffering an eye injury during the first half.

Conte, who has already been diagnosed with two concussions this season, was initially being evaluated for a concussion, so an eye injury may be a blessing in disguise if it's not too serious.

In nine games this season, Conte has accumulated 39 combined tackles, three passes defended and three interceptions.
