Jets' Geno Smith will start Monday vs. Dolphins
Despite initial reports indicating that head coach Rex Ryan preferred to stick with Michael Vick under center, the New York Jets will be making a change at the quarterback position after all.
Ryan met with his two quarterbacks on Wednesday morning, informing them that Geno Smith would get the start for Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins.
Smith regains the starting job after being relegated to a backup role for the Jets' past three games and will now have an opportunity to show management that he does have a future with the team moving forward.
In nine games thus far, the second-year pro has thrown for 1,459 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
