Robert Griffin: To Be Benched In Favor Of McCoy
Washington is planning to start Colt McCoy over Griffin on Sunday at Indianapolis, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Analysis:
According to Schefter's source, Washington is hitting the reset button, although it might not last long. The team apparently still views him as part of the long-term plan, but after Griffin's performance against San Francisco in which he was sacked five times and threw for just 106 yards, McCoy is believed to be an upgrade in the short term. The team is expected to make the announcement official Wednesday when coach Jay Gruden meets with reporters.
