Report: Chargers' Rivers dealing with bruised ribs, possible cartilage damage

It looks as though there's a pretty good reason why San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has struggled over the past few weeks.

Rivers is dealing with bruised ribs and possible cartilage damage, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Before the Chargers narrowly beat the lowly Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon, the team had dropped three straight, with Rivers tossing six interceptions against five touchdowns during that span.

Rivers appeared to suffer a right leg injury during the third quarter of Sunday's game, but ultimately stayed on the field, completing 22-of-34 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown.
