Denard Robinson was impressive in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 24-6 victory over the Cleveland Browns, rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
Robinson's performance was enough to win the starting job, edging out Storm Johnson. Johnson rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown on six carries Sunday.
Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley confirmed that Robinson would be the team's lead back when asked about the starting vacancy.
"Yeah, I think so. We’ll look at the film. He did a good job and we hope to get Toby (Gerhart) back,’’ Bradley said to the Florida Times-Union's Vito Stellino.
Gerhart reaggravated a foot injury on Oct. 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Jaguars had been operating with a running back-by-committee approach since.
Robinson played quarterback at the University of Michigan, and has also lined up at wide receiver in the NFL.
"I came in not even knowing what position I was going to play," Robinson said.
Jacksonville's first victory of the season means that the Oakland Raiders remain as the lone winless team.
