Report: Saints hope to have Graham, Ingram back after bye week
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton had no updates Monday on tight end Jimmy Graham or running back Mark Ingram, but reports indicate both players could be back following the team's Week 6 bye.
According to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com, one source familiar with the Saints' thinking said the team is hopeful Ingram's broken hand will be healed enough that he can return in Week 7.
Additionally, NFL Network reported Sunday night that the Saints do not believe the shoulder injury sustained by Graham in Sunday's 37-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is serious.
Graham suffered the injury in the first quarter of the game, but returned after getting looked at by trainers on the sideline. He left the game again in the second quarter to undergo X-rays and did not return, however, Payton admitted to pulling Graham as a precaution.
The Saints also lost center Jonathan Goodwin (knee), linebacker Ramon Humber (ankle), and cornerback Patrick Robinson (hamstrings) to injuries Sunday. Goodwin said he expects to return following the bye, and while Payton didn't have an update on Hunter or Robinson, he sounded optimistic.
"There were a few guys nicked up that I think we'll have back," Payton said.
The Saints face the Detroit Lions on the road in Week 7 before returning home to host the Green Bay Packers.
