The Green Bay Packers rallied from a 18-point deficit to defeat the New York Jets 31-24 on Sunday.
Jordy Nelson had a fantastic game, catching nine passes for 209 yards and a touchdown.
New York led Green Bay 21-3 early in the second quarter before Aaron Rodgers got hot and threw for three touchdowns.
Here's what you need to know...
- Geno Smith was outstanding in the first half, dissecting the Packers' defense for a rushing and passing touchdown, helping the Jets jump out to a 21-3 lead.
- Including a slow start, Rodgers finished 25-of-42 for 346 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
- Green Bay scored 21 unanswered points to tie the game at 24-24 in the third quarter.
- Whenever the Packers hit a lull, they turned to Nelson. The seventh-year pro torched an anemic Jets secondary whenever he touched the ball.
- After the Packers scored a go-ahead touchdown, Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson threw punches at Packers guard Josh Sitton and was promptly ejected.
- It wasn't a banner day for the Jets' defensive line, as Sheldon Richardson left the game and suffered an apparent leg injury.
- Rodgers passed Bart Starr for second all-time on the Packers' passing yards list.
- Jets linebacker Demario Davis recorded two sacks in a losing effort.
- Jets receiver Eric Decker left with a hamstring injury and did not return. Decker was the team's leading receiver with four catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.
