The Minnesota Vikings just injected some energy into their defensive line by drafting Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton.
Crichton plays with a motor and never takes a play off. He uses his strong hands to overwhelm pass protectors and get to the quarterback. He recorded 19 tackles for loss and 7 1/2 sacks during the 2013 campaign.
Crichton best projects as a defensive end in a 4-3 scheme given his size. He would have to add considerable bulk to play the end spot in a 3-4.
The Vikings have themselves a leader in Crichton, as he isn't afraid to speak up when he needs to and his effort on the field sets a good example for teammates.
