Broncos K Matt Prater will practice Monday

Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater will be back on the practice field Monday, having recovered from an illness that forced him to spend the majority of last week at home while the rest of his teammates prepared for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Speaking with Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Prater said he expects to be fully recovered by the middle of the week.

"Hopefully, in another day or two, I'll be back to normal," Prater said Sunday.

"I got some kind of flu or something," he added. "It started to come on Tuesday night. When I woke up Wednesday morning, I felt like I got run over by a truck."

Prater didn't practice with the team Thursday, Friday or Saturday as he recovered from the illness, and will begin kicking for the first time since he hit four field goals in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.

The 29-year-old has made 30 of his 32 field goals this season (including the playoffs), good enough for a 93.8 percent clip.
