Report: 49ers LG Iupati suffered broken fibula in NFC championship
San Francisco 49ers left guard Mike Iupati left Sunday's NFC championship in the second quarter after injuring his leg. That injury turned out to be a broken fibula in his left leg as Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reported on Monday.
The good news is that Iupati will not require surgery and according to Barrows, should be back at full strength in just eight weeks. Iupati started 12 games in 2013, as shoulder and knee injuries slowed him down. He had started every game during his first three seasons in the league.
