Saquon beats out Lamar, Allen for No. 1 on NFL's Top 100 list
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley claimed the No. 1 spot on the NFL Top 100 rankings Monday, beating out Lamar Jackson and reigning MVP Josh Allen.
Barkley is coming off one of the best campaigns in NFL history by a running back, becoming the ninth player ever to record 2,000-plus rushing yards in the regular season. He continued his dominance in the postseason, helping Philadelphia win the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy after blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
The 28-year-old broke Terrell Davis' record for the most rushing yards (2,504) and scrimmage yards (2,857) in a full year. Philadelphia rewarded Barkley after the 2024 campaign, making him the highest-paid rusher in the league.
Jackson, the No. 2 player on the list, racked up 5,087 total yards with 45 touchdowns last season. The Baltimore Ravens' star quarterback finished second in MVP voting behind Allen, who was voted the third-best player in the league by his peers. The Buffalo Bills signal-caller ranked first in EPA/play among 30 qualified quarterbacks in 2024, according to Ben Baldwin's database.
