Trent Richardson sheds 12 pounds, gains speed
Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson improved his speed by dropping 12 pounds from his 2012 playing weight, Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer reports.
#browns Trent Richardson revealed he played at 236-237 last season because he couldn't run. Plans to stay at 225 this year. No wonder faster

The reason Richardson "couldn't run" last season is because of a rib injury he battled nearly all year. Richardson routinely missed practice and reportedly couldn't even sleep lying down due to intense pain.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft had a good rookie season, compiling 950 rushing yards and 367 receiving yards, but he could be in for a major break-out if his quickness is markedly improved in 2013.
