Titans select OL Peter Skoronski with No. 11 pick
The Tennessee Titans selected Northwestern offensive lineman Peter Skoronski in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 11th overall.
Skoronski is a likely candidate to replace veteran offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, who the team released after nine seasons.
Skoronski was named the Big Ten top offensive lineman and a first-team all-conference selection in 2022. He started all 12 games for the Wildcats last season at left tackle. He's the grandson of former Green Bay Packers captain Bob Skoronski.
The Northwestern product will join free-agent signing Andre Dillard and 2022 third-round pick Nicholas Petit-Frere as options to start at offensive tackle next season. The 6-foot-4, 314-pounder could also see snaps along the interior of the offensive line.
Tennessee last selected an offensive lineman with its top choice in 2020, drafting Isaiah Wilson 29th overall.
Pre-draft profile
Skoronski is the rare offensive line prospect who will jump to the professional level having already demonstrated sound technique in all phases of his game. Add in his high-end athleticism for the position, not to mention his intelligence, and it's no wonder he's almost always in perfect position to execute his block - run or pass. Although his lack of length (4th percentile among offensive tackles) could impact his fit at the position, that's the only real question about his NFL future. He should have the opportunity to prove that the other aspects of his game will still allow him to succeed on the edge, and if that doesn't work out, he still figures to be a great option at guard.
