The Los Angeles Rams appear to have dodged disaster.

Star receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to play in the Week 9 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, head coach Sean McVay announced, according to team reporter Stu Jackson.

"I think he'll be OK," McVay said Monday.

Kupp suffered an ankle injury following a reception late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He walked off the field under his own power and had an apparent limp after the game.

The All-Pro wideout is dealing with soft tissue swelling in his ankle but avoided any structural damage.

Kupp recorded eight catches for 79 yards Sunday. He leads the Rams with 64 receptions for 686 yards and five touchdowns.

"I'm kicking myself for not running the ball again," McVay said postgame, according to Cameron DaSilva of USA Today.

The Rams (3-4) will attempt to climb to .500 when they play the Buccaneers on Sunday.
