The Indianapolis Colts are signing left tackle Eric Fisher to a one-year, $9.4-million deal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Kansas City Chiefs released Fisher in March after eight seasons. Kansas City selected him first overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Fisher is currently rehabbing from a torn Achilles suffered in the AFC Championship Game. He underwent a physical during a recent visit with the Colts, and the team is pleased with his progress ahead of the 2021 season, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The 30-year-old is expected to replace Anthony Castonzo, who retired in January after 10 NFL seasons. He'll compete with fellow offseason signings Sam Tevi and Julien Davenport for the starting left tackle job as Indianapolis prepares to protect new quarterback Carson Wentz.

Fisher has started 113 of his 117 career games, earning two Pro Bowl nods.
