The New Orleans Saints face discipline for violating the NFL's COVID-19 policies in what would be their third offense, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

The latest incident may have contributed to Alvin Kamara missing the regular-season finale after he reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 1 following an interaction with a person not employed by the club who turned out to be positive.

Surveillance video obtained by the league captured the violation, according to Rapoport and Pelissero.

Other Saints running backs were also forced to miss the Week 17 contest as they were deemed high-risk close contacts to Kamara. The star tailback returned for the wild-card round due to New Orleans playing on Sunday, Jan. 10 instead of Saturday, Jan. 9.

Head coach Sean Payton was previously fined $100,000 for failing to properly wear face coverings in Week 2. New Orleans was also penalized $500,000 and docked a seventh-round pick for maskless celebrations following its Week 9 win.

The league hasn't determined the Saints' discipline for their most recent violation.
