The Houston Texans activated running back David Johnson from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team announced Saturday.

Johnson missed the last three games due to a concussion suffered in Week 9.

Houston brought the 28-year-old over in the offseason in exchange for DeAndre Hopkins, but he has failed to take firm control of the team's running game. Johnson has yet to crack 100 rushing yards in a game this season.

The veteran back has struggled with injuries as he has aged, only playing a complete 16-game season once over the last four years.

Johnson has rushed for 3,536 yards throughout his career.
