San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. was forced to exit Sunday's game against the New England Patriots due to an ankle injury.

Wilson crumpled to the turf immediately after scoring his third touchdown of the contest in the third quarter.

He limped to the sideline but was carted to the locker room. The 49ers initially declared the 24-year-old questionable to return.

With Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman sidelined, Wilson drew 17 carries for 112 yards and added scores from 16, 7, and 3 yards out.
