NFL moves Raiders from SNF due to COVID-19, flexes Cardinals-Seahawks
The NFL has flexed the Week 7 game between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks to Sunday Night Football.
As a result, the Las Vegas Raiders will now host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
The league's announcement comes one day after Raiders right tackle Trent Brown tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in Las Vegas sending all of its starting offensive linemen and safety Johnathan Abram home from practice following contact tracing.
Offensive tackle Kolton Miller, guards Denzelle Good and Gabe Jackson, center Rodney Hudson, and Abram were all placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. Las Vegas didn't register any new positive cases after Wednesday's round of testing, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The NFL and players' union are reportedly reviewing whether Brown failed to consistently wear his tracking device at the team's facility prior to testing positive, which made it more difficult for the league to determine which teammates were in closer contact with him, a source told Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The game between the Raiders and Buccaneers is expected to be played on Sunday afternoon, according to the NFL. The league made the move to ensure there will be a prime-time matchup that night in case the Las Vegas contest is postponed.
The Cardinals are now set to play a prime-time game for the second straight week after beating the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 6. The Seahawks, meanwhile, will make their third prime-time appearance this year.
Seattle enters Week 7 as one of the NFL's three unbeaten teams at 5-0, alongside the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers.
