Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso has requested a trade, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Alonso has spent the last three seasons with the Dolphins. He came to Miami in a 2016 trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, which included Byron Maxwell and a draft pick that helped Philly move up to select Carson Wentz.

The linebacker was also in the memorable LeSean McCoy trade of 2015, when the Buffalo Bills sent Alonso to the Eagles in exchange for the decorated running back.

In 15 games last season, Alonso racked up 125 tackles, three forced fumbles, and three interceptions. The 29-year-old has two years left on his contract, which carries a base salary of $6.485 million in 2019 and a non-guaranteed base salary of $6.375 million in 2020, according to OverTheCap.
