Browns sign former Ravens 1st-round pick Perriman

Patrick McDermott / USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns announced the signing of free-agent wide receiver Breshad Perriman on Saturday.

Cleveland placed undrafted wideout Derrick Willies on injured reserve in a corresponding move after he made his first three career catches in Week 5. Willies broke his collarbone during Friday's practice.

The Browns are hurting at receiver, as Rashard Higgins is also expected to miss time with a sprained MCL.

Perriman was the Baltimore Ravens' first-round pick (No. 26 overall) in 2015. He never found success with the team after battling injuries and inconsistency. He signed with the Washington Redskins in September, but was waived four days later.
