Report: NFL could expand draft coverage to NBC, CBS
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
The NFL draft could soon be coming to every screen near you.
The league's contracts with FOX Sports and ESPN don't guarantee exclusive rights to air the draft, meaning NBC and CBS could televise the event in coming years, sources told Sporting News' Michael McCartney.
While overexposure could be an issue, some league executives believe the draft could become "the sports equivalent of a U.S. presidential election," covered by all networks simultaneously, added McCartney.
All seven rounds of the 2018 draft will air on broadcast TV for the first time ever, thanks to ABC simulcasting ESPN's coverage of Day 3.
