The Indianapolis Colts are very close to signing kicker Adam Vinatieri to a one-year deal, according to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com.
Kravitz adds that the deal should be finalized by Thursday.
Vinatieri, 45, is coming off his 22nd NFL season and 12th with the Colts. He spent his first 10 seasons with the New England Patriots.
He made 29 of 34 field-goal attempts and 22 of 24 extra-point attempts this past season, connecting on all 11 tries from 20-29 yards and going 5-for-6 from 50-plus.
Vinatieri is just 57 points behind all-time points leader and Hall of Famer Morten Andersen. He scored 109 over 15 games in 2017.
