Report: NFL draft will be televised by FOX for next 5 years

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

The 2018 NFL Draft will be moving further into the spotlight this year, as the event will be televised by FOX for the first time, sources told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Not only that, FOX will be home to the draft for the next five years, including this year, sources told John Ourand of Sports Business Journal.

FOX will simulcast NFL Network coverage on Thursday (Round 1) and Friday (Rounds 2-3), with the coverage of the later rounds yet to be decided, added Ourand. ESPN will continue to televise the event on its own.

FOX's deal for the draft is reportedly part of the package the company landed for Thursday Night Football.
