New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did it whatever it took to lead his team back to the Super Bowl.

Brady injured his hand in practice Wednesday after colliding with running back Rex Burkhead on a routine running play. Although there was concern about his status for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brady played with stitches on his hand, spurring his team to a 24-20 victory.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP said he was immediately determined to play upon suffering the injury Wednesday.

"Out of all the plays, my season can’t end on a handoff in practice. We didn’t come this far to end on a handoff," Brady said via NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Brady is looking for his sixth Super Bowl victory, an accomplishment that would almost certainly cement his status as the greatest player in modern history. Although Brady tore his ACL and MCL in 2008, he considered this week among the more chaotic scenarios of his career.

"I've had a couple injuries, but this was pretty crazy," Brady said via Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

Brady said he's aiming to get his stitches out this week, a development that would surely aid him in his preparation as the Patriots get ready to face the winner of Sunday's NFC Championship Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.
