The Arizona Cardinals may be preparing for life without Bruce Arians, as the team's front office believes the head coach could call it a career following the season, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, citing league sources.

Those close to Arians believe he is not intending to return to the sidelines, although the head coach has made no such confirmation on the matter, according to La Canfora.

Arians has manned the helm of the Cardinals since 2013, however, the 65-year-old has had to overcome a number of health-related obstacles during that time.

Entering Sunday's matchup against the Washington Redskins, Arians holds an overall record of 47-29 in Arizona, highlighted by two consecutive trips to the playoffs in 2014-15. The Cardinals currently sit third in the NFC West, and have been forced to overcome the loss of quarterback Carson Palmer and running backs Adrian Peterson and David Johnson this season.
