The Buffalo Bills announced that quarterback Tyrod Taylor will return to his role as the starter for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Taylor was inactive for last week's snowy home game against the Indianapolis Colts as he recovered from a knee injury. Rookie Nathan Peterman started in his place, but sustained a concussion in the contest and remains in concussion protocol.

Joe Webb will serve as Taylor's backup in Sunday's game.

The 7-6 Bills have a tenuous hold on the AFC's sixth and final playoff spot, and can ill afford to lose against the 6-7 Dolphins.

In an up-and-down season - during which Taylor has dealt with injuries and a Week 11 benching in favor of Peterman - the seventh-year pro has thrown for 2,090 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. The Bills own the second-worst passing offense in the league, but the sixth-best running game. They'll test their mettle against the Dolphins' 16th-ranked defense.

The Bills also announced that left tackle Cordy Glenn has been placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury.
