The Cleveland Browns tried anything possible to achieve their first win of the season - even a desperation heave.

Tied 21-21 in overtime with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer scrambled and threw a pass into the middle of the field that was intercepted. The turnover led to a game-winning score for the Packers.

Kizer was under heavy pressure from Packers linebacker Clay Matthews on the play, and his attempt to throw appeared ill-advised.

The rookie tried to explain what he saw after the game.

"On my way back to my left, I was able to see (receiver) Rashard Higgins spin off of his guy and have an opportunity to go down and make a game-winning touchdown. One of the better players in this league was able to reverse field with me, get his hand on my arm, it left the ball in the air and they were able to make a good play on the ball," Kizer said in his postgame scrum.

He was asked to clarify whether he believed a completion to Higgins would have resulted in a touchdown for the Browns.

"Yeah, I think that you strike up the band there and enjoy our first win of this year," he said.

Instead, the Packers got the ball at the Cleveland 42-yard line and needed just six plays before reaching the end zone, dropping the Browns to 0-13 on the year.
