Browns' Dorsey: Decision to cut Britt was 'easy'

John Dorsey's first order of business as general manager of the Cleveland Browns was to release wide receiver Kenny Britt.

Dorsey cut the nine-year vet after he put up just 233 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with Cleveland. On Thursday, the new man in charge said cutting ties with Britt was a no-brainer.

"I have no problem making that decision. From a cultural standpoint, I don't think he fits in the prototypical character point of what I'm looking for in terms of a leader. He did not live up to his expectations as a player," Dorsey said on WKNR 850 radio, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

"(He) may have a higher opinion of himself than I have of him as a player, so I thought that was easy."

It didn't take long for Britt to find work, however, as he landed with the New England Patriots four days after his release.

Dorsey also let it be known during his radio appearance that he wasn't fond of the moves made by the previous regime in Cleveland, saying, "The guys who were here before ... didn't get real players."
