Patriots' Hogan out for clash with Steelers, Britt active

James Lang / USA TODAY Sports

New England Patriots receiver Chris Hogan has been listed as inactive for Sunday's pivotal clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a shoulder injury.

Hogan returned from a four-game absence only to haul in one pass for one yard in last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins, despite getting in a full workload.

In his second year with the Patriots, Hogan was averaging 54 yards per contest before he sustained his injury.

In his absence, the team has been relying heavily on Danny Amendola. Tight end Rob Gronkowski returns from a one-game suspension Sunday and the Patriots signed veteran Kenny Britt early in the week. Britt is active for the game.
